Carbonate group (-O-(C=O)-O-): The polar carbonate group in the main chain gives the molecular chain high rigidity (glass transition temperature Tg=145-150℃), while enhancing the intermolecular force, and the tensile strength can reach 60-75 MPa (ISO 527 standard), which is much higher than ordinary plastics (such as PVC tensile strength ≤50 MPa);
Amorphous structure: The molecular chain is disordered, the transmittance is ≥90% (ordinary PC is 88%-90%), close to optical glass (transmittance 92%), and the refractive index is stable (nD=1.584-1.586);
Narrow molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn≤3.0): The molecular weight distribution is controlled by anionic polymerization process, internal defects are reduced, and impact resistance and processing fluidity are improved (melt flow rate MFR=5-20 g/10min, ISO 1133 standard).

Application fields of polycarbonate rods
Optics and electronic appliances
Optical instrument light guide components: High light transmittance PC rods are used for laser light guide rods (such as optical fiber communication equipment) and microscope objective sleeves, with a light transmittance of ≥92% to ensure efficient light transmission;
Electronic equipment housing: Flame-retardant PC rods (UL94 V-0) are used for mobile phone holders and computer cooling fan blades, which are impact-resistant and high-temperature resistant (continuous use temperature 120°C).
Architecture and decoration
Architectural skylights: Transparent PC rods are used for gymnasium skylights and greenhouse covering materials, with a light transmittance of ≥90% and impact resistance (can withstand hail impact and have a service life of more than 20 years);
Indoor decoration partitions: Frosted PC rods (surface haze ≥50%) are used for office partitions and shopping mall display cabinets, with good privacy and easy cleaning.
Medical and Food
Medical device parts: Medical-grade PC rods (in compliance with ISO 10993 biocompatibility standards) are used for endoscope housings and syringe plungers. They are non-toxic and odorless (in compliance with GB 4806.6 food contact material standards) and are resistant to steam sterilization (121°C, no deformation for 30 minutes);
Food processing machinery guide rails: PC rods that meet FDA standards are used for beverage filling line conveyor guide rails and food packaging machine bearings. They are resistant to detergents (sodium hypochlorite solution).
Automobiles and transportation
Automobile headlight light guide strips: Optical-grade PC rods are used for LED headlight light guide strips. They have a light transmittance of ≥92% and are resistant to high temperatures (continuous use temperature of 120°C), reducing light scattering (improving lighting uniformity);
Railway interior parts: Flame-retardant PC rods (UL94 V-0) are used for subway handrails and high-speed rail luggage racks. They are impact-resistant and fire-resistant (in compliance with EN45545-2 rail transportation fire protection standards).
Sports and leisure
Ski goggles and goggles frames: High-impact PC rods are used for ski goggles and goggles frames, which are resistant to low temperatures (still flexible at -40°C) and tear-resistant (tear strength ≥ 50 kN/m);
Fitness equipment parts: Self-lubricating PC rods are used for treadmill display brackets and dumbbell handles, with a friction coefficient as low as 0.3 (common plastics are 0.5 - 0.7), which improves movement smoothness.
