Description of Operating Temperature Range for Linear Guide Sliders

The operating temperature range of linear guide sliders is determined by factors such as their material, component composition, and surface treatment, as detailed below:

Linear guides containing resin components: The applicable temperature range is -20℃～80℃. This is the upper temperature limit for conventional usage scenarios; special types of guides should be considered if the temperature exceeds 80℃.

Carbon steel linear guides: They have slightly better temperature resistance, with an applicable temperature range of -20℃～110℃.

Stainless steel linear guides: They offer stronger temperature resistance in normal temperature environments, with an applicable temperature range of -20℃～140℃.

If the ambient temperature exceeds the above conventional ranges, targeted adjustments are required:

High-temperature environments (above 80℃): It is recommended to use specially designed high-temperature guides, which can withstand a maximum temperature of up to 150℃ and an instantaneous maximum temperature of 200℃. Some linear guides with special surface treatments can tolerate high temperatures ranging from 130℃ to 180℃. However, it should be noted that although linear guides with metal components can withstand higher temperatures, the load-carrying capacity may decrease due to the reduced surface hardness of the rolling elements, so temperature factors must be taken into account.

Special low-temperature environments (below 0℃): The end covers should be replaced with stainless steel ones with surface treatment to prevent rust caused by the condensation of ice, frost, or dew. Additionally, low-temperature-applicable grease should be selected.
