One-way angular contact ball bearings (also known as one-way thrust angular contact ball bearings) are a special category of the angular contact ball bearing family that focus on one-way axial load bearing. The core feature is that through a special raceway design, it can only bear axial load in one direction and can bear a small amount of radial load. It combines the axial load-bearing capacity of thrust bearings with the high-speed and high-precision characteristics of angular contact ball bearings. It is widely used in the field of precision equipment that requires one-way limit and high-speed operation.

From a structural point of view, this type of bearing usually consists of four parts: outer ring (or seat ring), inner ring (or shaft ring), steel ball, and cage. Some models include positioning rings. Its raceway design is significantly different from that of ordinary angular contact ball bearings: the inner and outer ring raceways are asymmetrically inclined, forming an effective contact angle only in one direction (commonly 15°, 25°, 40°). The contact point between the steel ball and the raceway only fully fits when bearing axial load in a specific direction, and the reverse load cannot be transmitted through the raceway, thereby achieving a one-way load-bearing function. Cages are mostly made of brass or reinforced nylon. Brass cages are suitable for high-speed and high-temperature scenarios, while nylon cages are lighter and less noisy, and can reduce friction and collision when steel balls are running. Some models will also install a sealing ring or dust cover between the inner and outer rings to improve dustproof capabilities.
