Bidirectional angular contact ball bearings are an integrated category in the angular contact ball bearing family that can withstand bidirectional axial loads at the same time. The core feature is that through special structural design (such as double inner rings, double outer rings or symmetrical raceways), a single bearing can carry bidirectional axial forces, while being compatible with radial loads. It has the advantages of high precision, high speed and compact structure. It is widely used in machine tool spindles, precision motors, aerospace equipment and other scenarios that require bidirectional limiting and space optimization.

From a structural point of view, this type of bearing mainly has two typical designs: one is a "double inner ring + single outer ring" structure, the two inner rings correspond to contact angles in different directions (commonly 15°/15°, 25°/25° symmetrical distribution), the steel balls and cages are assembled in two independent groups, and the preload force is adjusted by the distance between the inner rings; the other is a "single inner ring + double outer ring" structure, the outer ring is designed with a symmetrical raceway, the steel balls contact in two directions, and the overall structure is more compact. Both designs do not require multiple sets of combinations to achieve bidirectional load-bearing like one-way angular contact ball bearings, which greatly simplifies equipment assembly. The cage is mostly made of brass (suitable for high speed and high temperature) or engineering plastic (low noise). Some high-precision models are equipped with ceramic balls to further reduce friction and increase the speed.
