From a structural point of view, TDI type double row tapered roller bearings are composed of two outer rings without ribs (i.e. two single cups), an inner ring with three ribs (also called double cone) and two sets of tapered roller and cage assemblies. Usually, there is a spacer ring between the two outer rings, and the double rows of rollers are arranged face to face (X-arrangement). This layout allows the bearing to effectively cope with bidirectional axial loads while bearing radial loads. As for the DF type, the rollers are also arranged face to face, which is the same as the roller arrangement of the TDI type.
