Aligning Roller Bearings

Spherical roller bearings are heavy-duty rolling bearings with both strong radial load bearing and automatic self-aligning functions. The core feature is that the inner ring raceway is spherical and the rolling elements are drum rollers. It can automatically compensate for the coaxiality deviation between the shaft and the bearing seat (the deflection angle can reach 1°- 2.5°), it can withstand huge radial loads and a small amount of bidirectional axial loads at the same time. It is widely used in heavy industrial scenarios such as mining equipment, metallurgical rolling mills, and papermaking machinery where shaft deflection or installation errors are prone to occur. It is a "stable supporter" under heavy-load and complex working conditions.

From a structural point of view, this type of bearing is mainly composed of five parts: outer ring (with spherical raceway), inner ring (with spherical raceway), drum roller, cage, and intermediate spacer. Some models include seals. The core design highlight is the "spherical fit + drum roller": the inner ring raceway and the outer ring raceway form a concentric spherical surface, and the arc surface of the drum roller fits perfectly with the spherical raceway. When the shaft is deflected due to installation error or force deformation, the roller can flexibly slide along the spherical raceway, driving the inner ring to adjust its angle synchronously with the shaft, eliminating the problem of eccentric load.
