SKYSIL SS-627 SILICA MATTING AGENT FOR WOOD COATINGS

SS-627 silica matting agent is treated with organic wax coating on the surface. When mixing our silica item with resin, it can change how the particle interacts with the resin system, reducing the shear force needed to break up agglomerates.The wax treatment

contributes to surface slip and scratch resistance after curing . This translates to a smoother, more pleasant tactile feel on finished surfaces.

SS-627 runs 3.5-4.5 microns with porosity of 1.8-2.0 ml/g. The organic treatment helps particles orient themselves properly during film formation.

When particles are oriented well, they scatter light for matting but don't create the haze that makes wood grain look muddy.

Wood coatings are the primary application - furniture, cabinetry, flooring. Works in both solvent-based and water-based systems.
