Fuel injector is a kind of precision device with very high processing precision, which requires large dynamic flow range, strong anti-clogging and anti-pollution ability and good atomization performance. The injector receives the fuel injection pulse signal sent by ECU to accurately control the fuel injection volume. The spray characteristics of injector include atomization particle size, oil mist distribution, oil beam direction, range and diffusion cone Angle. These characteristics should conform to the requirements of the diesel combustion system to enable mixture formation and combustion perfection, and to achieve high power and thermal efficiency.

The diesel injection system atomizes the fuel and distributes it in the combustion chamber to the parts that mix with the air. It is mainly composed of nozzle and injector body, its installation position and Angle on the cylinder head depends on the design of the combustion chamber. Fuel injectors are divided into open and closed two kinds. Open injector structure is simple, but poor atomization, rarely used. Closed fuel injectors are widely used in various diesel engines. The diesel engine draws in pure air during its intake stroke. When the compression stroke is near the end, the diesel oil pressure is increased to more than 100MPa through the fuel injection pump, injected into the cylinder through the injector, and mixed with the compressed high temperature air in a very short time, forming a combustible mixture. Due to the high compression ratio of diesel engine (generally 16-22), the air pressure in the cylinder at the end of compression can reach 3.5-4.5mpa, while the temperature is as high as 750-1000K(while the mixture pressure of gasoline engine at this time will be 0.6-1.2mpa, the temperature is 600-700K), which greatly exceeds the spontaneous combustion temperature of diesel. Therefore, diesel fuel is injected into the cylinder, in a very short period of time after mixing with the air, it immediately ignited itself. The air pressure in the cylinder rises sharply to 6-9mpa, and the temperature rises to 2000-2500K. Driven by high pressure gas, the piston moves down and drives the crankshaft to rotate while doing work, and the exhaust gas is also discharged into the atmosphere through the exhaust pipe.
