Transparent Rigid PVC Board

 

Clear Rigid PVC Sheet is a highly transparent, rigid engineering plastic sheet made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) through extrusion or calendaring. PVC itself is a polymer material formed by the polymerization of vinyl chloride monomer (CH₂=CHCl) under the action of an initiator (such as peroxide). Its "rigid" properties come from the absence of large amounts of plasticizers (plasticizer content is less than 5%, typically only 1%-3% or none at all), maintaining a tight molecular chain arrangement and a high tendency to crystallize, thus endowing the material with excellent rigidity, dimensional stability, and transparency. Its "transparency" is achieved through optimized formulation (such as reducing impurities and controlling molecular weight distribution) and processing techniques (such as rapid cooling and setting), resulting in a visible light transmittance of 85%-92% (close to the 90%-95% of glass), while retaining PVC's inherent corrosion resistance, flame retardancy, and ease of processing.

 

Transparent rigid PVC sheets are widely used in applications requiring light transmittance, structural strength, and chemical resistance. Common forms include flat sheets, curved sheets, and custom-cut pieces. They can be used as display panels, protective windows, equipment covers, signage substrates, sanitary partitions, and more, meeting engineering requirements for both visibility and durability.
