Polyquaternium-7 is a water-soluble cationic polymer widely used as a hair care ingredient in hair care product. It has strength affinity with hair keratin and enhance hair wet and dry combing performance, reduce static and improving hair soft, hair smoothening, high shine and elasticity. Polyquaternium-7 also forms a transparent, glossy and flexible film on the hair surface, making hair has smooth and moisturized without posed excessive buildup. With its excellent water solubility and good compatibility with multiple surfactant, Polyquaternium-7 is suitable for transparent and water-soluble hair care formulations.

Polyquaternium-7 is a cationic polymer which interacts with negatively charged hair keratin to provide conditioning and anti-static efficiency. Compared with other Polyquaternium ingredients, Polyquaternium-7 possess excellent water-solubility, transparent appearance and has widely compatibility with anionic surfactant, nonionic surfactant, cationic surfactant and amphoteric surfactant. It is particularly suitable for formulations where clarity, softness, smoothness and combability. Polyquaternium-7 can also improve foam stability, making it become a versatile conditioning ingredient in different hair care formulations.

The Applications of Polyquaternium-7 in Hair Care

Polyquaternium-7 is widely used in shampoo, clear and colorless hair care product, 2-in-1 cleansing product, conditioner, hair mask and other water-soluble formulations. In cleansing products, Polyquaternium-7 improve hair wet and dry combing performance while reduce static, strength hair soft and high shine. In hair care product, it can make hair smoothness, moisturized and non-greasy feel and enhance hair manageability and curl retention. It is also compatible with nonionic and amphoteric materials and can be used at a recommended dosage of 0.2-5.0% by adding it to the water phase under stirring.
