Pad mounted  transformer 

Pad mounted  transformer is compact distribution equipment that integrates transformers, high-voltage load switches, fuses, and other devices into a sealed oil tank. They are widely used in urban power grids, residential communities, commercial centers, industrial and mining enterprises, and other locations. The following are their main features, advantages and disadvantages, and application areas:

1. Compact Structure

The transformer, high-voltage load switch, fuses, and other components are all housed within the oil tank.

2. Flexible Power Supply Configuration

It can be used for both ring network power supply and terminal power supply, with easy conversion between the two, thereby enhancing power supply reliability.

3. Strong overload capacity

Allows short-term overloads (e.g., 2 times the rated load for 2 hours, or 1.6 times the rated load for 7 hours) without affecting the service life.

4. Comprehensive protection measures

Dual fuse protection is employed (insertion fuse + backup current-limiting fuse) to ensure rapid power disconnection during short-circuit faults.

High-voltage cable heads can be plugged and unplugged under power, and can serve as load switches in emergency situations.

5. Low loss, low noise

The use of stepped joint cores or rolled core technology reduces no-load losses and noise.

Some models use high-flashpoint oil (FR3) with a flash point of 312°C, offering enhanced safety.

6. Corrosion and moisture-resistant design

- The enclosure undergoes special paint treatment, providing anti-condensation, anti-salt fog, and anti-mold functions, suitable for harsh environments.
