Characteristics of common mode inductors
1. Suppress common-mode interference signals
The main feature of common mode inductors is that they can suppress common mode interference signals. Common mode interference signal refers to the interference signal that exists in two signal lines at the same time in the circuit. This signal will affect the normal operation of the circuit, such as reducing the signal quality and increasing the error. The common mode inductor can suppress the common mode interference signal through the principle of electromagnetic induction and magnetic field interaction, so as to improve the quality and reliability of the signal.
2. Differential mode conversion
Common mode inductors can also realize differential mode conversion through circuit design. Differential mode conversion refers to the conversion of common mode signals to differential mode signals, so as to improve the quality and reliability of signals. A difference-mode signal refers to the difference between two signals, while a common-mode signal refers to the average between two signals. Through the design of common mode inductor, the common mode signal can be converted into differential mode signal, so that the interference signal can be suppressed better.
3. Large inductance value
The inductance value of common mode inductors is usually larger than that of ordinary inductance devices. This is because the common mode inductor needs to have sufficient inductance value to realize the suppression of the common mode interference signal and the differential mode conversion. Common mode inductors with large inductance values usually require multi-layer winding and high permeability materials to achieve efficient suppression and conversion.
4. Small size
Although the inductance value of a common mode inductor is usually large, its size is relatively small. This is because common mode inductors usually use multi-layer winding and tight winding, so as to achieve a higher inductance value and size compression. In addition, the size of common mode inductors can also be adjusted through material selection and design optimization.
