Inositol, also known as cyclohexane hexanol, has the molecular formula C6H12O6, with the appearance of white crystalline powder, odorless and sweet. Inositol is neutral in aqueous solution, non-spinny, stable under heating, strong acid and strong alkali, soluble in water, solubility increases with temperature, slightly soluble in ethanol, acetic acid and ethylene glycol, insoluble in ether and chloroform. Inositol is a water-soluble vitamin, belongs to B vitamins, widely exists in animals, plants and microorganisms, and has several isomers.  At present, the production of inositol is mainly made from rice bran, our country is a large rice producing country, thus, our country has sufficient raw materials for the production of inositol, which not only helps to improve the added value of rice bran, reduce the waste of resources of grain and oil processing by-products, and the production of inositol is used in medicine, food processing, feed, cosmetics and other fields, which has important significance to people's health, life and so on.
