High Quality PTFE Sheet Rod for Engineering Applications
Product Description
PTFE rod is a high-purity rod-shaped product made from polytetrafluoroethylene resin through molding and sintering processes. Its molecular structure is composed of carbon fluorine bonds (C-F), which have unique chemical inertness and physical properties, and are widely used in industrial fields such as corrosion prevention, sealing, and wear resistance. PTFE rods can be customized according to customer needs in different specifications (diameter, length) and colors (usually white, can also be adjusted with color masterbatch), with a smooth surface and high dimensional accuracy, suitable for precision machining.

Characteristics
Chemical stability
Resistant to strong acids, strong bases, organic solvents, and strong oxidants (excluding aqua regia and hydrofluoric acid), it hardly reacts with any chemical substances.
The pH tolerance range is wide (0-14), suitable for extreme chemical environments.
High temperature and low temperature resistance performance
Continuous use temperature range: -200 ℃ to 260 ℃, short-term temperature tolerance can reach 300 ℃.
Maintain flexibility and mechanical strength in low temperature environments without embrittlement.
Excellent electrical insulation
Low dielectric constant (2.0~2.1), with a volume resistivity of up to 10 ¹⁸Ω· cm, suitable for high-frequency and high-voltage insulation scenarios.
Non adhesive
The surface energy is extremely low (<18 mN/m), and almost no substance adheres, making it easy to clean and maintain.
Self-lubricating property
Low friction coefficient (static friction coefficient 0.04~0.08), excellent wear resistance, suitable for high load sliding parts.
Mechanical performance
Tensile strength ≥ 20 MPa, elongation at break ≥ 250%, but with low hardness (Shore D grade about 50-60), it is necessary to avoid scratching with sharp objects.
Biocompatibility
Compliant with FDA, USP Class VI and other standards, it can be used for food and pharmaceutical contact parts.
Advantages
Leading corrosion resistance
In corrosive environments such as chemical and semiconductor industries, the service life of PTFE rods far exceeds that of metals and ordinary plastic products.
High processing flexibility
It can be processed into complex shapes through processes such as turning, drilling, milling, etc., to meet the requirements of precision components.
Environmental protection and safety
Non toxic, compliant with environmental regulations such as RoHS and REACH, suitable for sensitive fields such as food and healthcare.
Long term cost-effectiveness
Although the initial cost is high, its maintenance free and long-life characteristics significantly reduce the total lifecycle cost.
Lightweight advantage
Low density (2.1~2.3 g/cm ³), can replace metal parts to reduce equipment weight.

Precautions
- Processing restrictions: When processing PTFE rods, high temperature degradation (>300 ℃) should be avoided, and it is recommended to use specialized cutting tools (such as tungsten carbide cutting tools).
- Environmental adaptability: Long term exposure to ultraviolet radiation may cause aging, and it is necessary to add ultraviolet stabilizers or avoid outdoor use.
- Surface treatment: If adhesion performance needs to be improved, surface activation treatment (such as plasma etching) can be performed.
