Translucent White PP Sheet PP Plates
Core Properties of Polypropylene (PP) Sheet
Basic Physical Properties
Density: 0.91 g/cm³ (One of the lightest plastics, lighter than water, and floats on water).
Appearance: White, translucent to opaque (milky white without fillers, may become matte and opaque with fillers such as calcium carbonate), with a smooth, waxy surface.
Chemical Resistance: Excellent resistance to acids (e.g., sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid), alkalis (e.g., sodium hydroxide), saline solutions, and organic solvents (e.g., gasoline, lubricating oils) (does not dissolve or swell at room temperature). However, it is not resistant to strong oxidizing acids (e.g., concentrated nitric acid, sulfuric acid) and halogen compounds (e.g., sodium hypochlorite).
Mechanical Properties
Tensile Strength: 30-40 MPa (Medium strength, suitable for non-heavy load structural support).
Flexural Strength: 40-50 MPa (Good rigidity, resists bending and deformation).
Impact Toughness: Charpy notched impact strength is approximately 2-5 kJ/m² (homopolymer PP, which is significantly brittle and prone to cracking, especially at low temperatures); copolymer PP (such as block copolymer PP) can be increased to 5-10 kJ/m² (with improved impact resistance).
Hardness: Shore D 60-70 (between soft and hard plastics, feels firm but lacks sharp edges).
Thermal Properties
Melting Point: Approximately 160-170°C (crystalline plastic, with a narrow melting temperature range).
Heat Deflection Temperature (HDT): 80-100°C (under a load of 0.45 MPa), with short-term heat resistance up to 120°C (but ≤80°C is recommended for long-term use).
Brittleness Temperature: Approximately -10°C to -5°C (below this temperature, impact toughness decreases significantly, resulting in brittle cracking).
Other Properties
Weather Resistance: Long-term exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays will gradually age (become brittle and discolor), requiring the addition of a UV inhibitor (UV-resistant modified white PP sheet is recommended for outdoor use).
Electrical Insulation: Volume resistivity > 10¹⁵ Ω·cm (excellent insulation, suitable for electrical equipment enclosures).
Processing Flowability: Excellent flowability in the molten state (easy to thermoform, cut, and weld), but with a high shrinkage rate (approximately 1.0-2.0%); careful deformation control is required after processing.

Core Applications of White PP Sheet
Due to its lightweight, corrosion-resistant, easy-to-process, and hygienic properties, white PP sheet is widely used in the following applications:
Chemical and Environmental Protection Equipment
Corrosion-Resistant Lining: Used in chemical workshops and laboratories for worktops, acid and alkali tank linings, and ventilation duct linings (resistant to the storage and transfer of acid, alkali, and salt solutions, such as sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, and sodium hydroxide solutions).
Wastewater Treatment: Used in sewage treatment tank covers and filter tank baffles (resistant to organic matter and microbial corrosion in wastewater).
Food and Pharmaceutical Industries
Food-Grade Applications: Select FDA-certified white PP sheet (compliant with food contact safety standards) for food processing countertops, baking molds, beverage production line turntables, and pharmaceutical packaging trays (non-toxic and odorless, no harmful substances released).
Medical and Health: Used in laboratory reagent racks, culture dish trays, and medical device cleaning tanks (easy to clean and resistant to disinfectant immersion).
Industry and Manufacturing
Equipment Protection and Decoration: Machine tool worktops, mechanical housing guards, and electronic component carriers (lightweight, load-reducing, resistant to oil stains and minor impacts).
Warehousing and Logistics: Shelf partitions and container linings (moisture-proof, anti-static, and protects cargo surfaces).
Construction and Decoration
Indoor Partitions: Lightweight partition panels for laboratories and cleanrooms (easy to install, corrosion-resistant, with a smooth and easy-to-clean surface).
Advertising and Signage: White PP board can be used as a substrate for advertising boards (low-cost, easy to print, suitable for temporary signs or indoor displays).
Daily Life and DIY
Household Goods: White PP board can be used to make storage boxes, kitchen mats, and children's toy parts (safe, non-toxic, and resistant to oil stains).
DIY Repair: Replaces some metal or wood panels (such as temporary furniture repairs and simple tool benches).
