Metal Briquetting Press is an indispensable heavy cold forming equipment in the field of modern high-end machining, non-ferrous metal smelting and circular economy. Its core mission is to directly extrude all kinds of metal chips (such as iron chips, aluminum chips, copper chips, stainless steel chips, etc., produced by cutting, turning and grinding) into high-density and regular cylindrical briquettes without adding any binder at room temperature and cold state.

Core Workflow

The efficient operation of the Hydraulic Briquetting Machine is highly dependent on the microsecond fluid sequential logic control of the central control system (PLC) for multiple heavy-duty hydraulic cylinders. The complete automatic cycle of the scattered metal chips from the feed to the final high-density briquette is as follows:

1. Volumetric quantitative prepressing:

After the metal chips fall into the hopper, the auxiliary pressure head or prepressing screw in the horizontal direction is pushed forward first. This step does not apply deep deformation to the metal, but uses volume contraction to force the loose, bridging chips into the main molding cavity to complete the primary degassing and mechanical stacking.

2. Rigid locking at both ends of the die cavity:

Before the main punch moves forward, the special locking tail cylinder drives the ram or die sleeve to move, and the rear end of the die cavity is rigidly sealed. At this time, the die cavity becomes an ultra-high pressure stress container which is completely closed except for the main punch inlet.

3. Coaxial and opposite final pressing and pressure maintaining of the main cylinder:

The main hydraulic cylinder with large cylinder diameter drives the main punch to cut into the die cavity. Modern advanced equipment mostly adopts the technology of double main cylinder coaxial counteracting. As the resistance soars, the system instantly explodes thousands of kilonewtons (200-600T) of ultimate tonnage, and maintains pressure for 2-5 seconds at the end of the journey. The two-way overlapping hydrostatic pressure makes the stress on both ends of the loose chips uniform, which thoroughly solves the process problems of "tight front and loose back, easy slag falling at the tail" caused by one-way pressing.

4. Slow linear pressure relief and demoulding:

When the pressure is maintained at the end of the main cylinder stroke, the system uses the proportional pressure relief valve to perform slow linear pressure relief to eliminate the instantaneous rebound impact inside the pipeline and the block. Then, the locking gate is opened, and the master cylinder rushes forward again, pushing the shaped metal briquette out of the die cavity neatly.
