Scrap metal box shears (also known as box shears) is a hydraulic shearing equipment designed for small and medium-sized scrap metal recycling. It adopts a closed bin structure, which can automatically compact and shear light and thin materials, steel bars, industrial scraps and other materials, and is widely used in small and medium-sized scrap steel recycling stations, dismantling plants and resource recycling centers.
Core working principle Box Shears:
The box shear is hydraulically driven, and the working process is as follows:
1. Feeding: Scrap metal is fed into the bin by hand or by a small loader.
2. Compaction: The pushing cylinder drives the pressure plate to compact the material, reduce the volume and fix the position.
3. Shear: The shear cylinder drives the blade to move downward to cut off the compacted material.
4. discharging: the sheared material is discharged from a discharge hole at the bottom to complete one cycle.
Compared with the gantry shear, the box shear focuses more on the treatment method of pressing first and then shearing, which can effectively deal with loose and light scrap metal, reduce material rebound and improve shearing efficiency.

1. Material type: select small tonnage for light and thin materials and large tonnage for thick steel plates.
2. Handling capacity requirement: Select the bin capacity and shearing frequency according to the daily handling capacity.
3. Site conditions: The box shear is preferred for the narrow site, and the gantry shear can be considered if the space is sufficient.
4. Budget constraints: Box scissors are the first choice for small and medium-sized recycling plants, which are more cost-effective.
Routine maintenance
1.Regularly check the hydraulic oil level and cleanliness, and replace the hydraulic oil every 6 months.
2. Check the wear of the blade, and grind or replace it in time (usually after cutting 5000-8000 tons).
3.Lubricate the moving parts (such as pin and guide rail) at least once a week.
4. Keep the material box clean, and timely clean scrap iron and sundries produced by shearing.
