During development, the developer reacts chemically with the exposed silver halide on the film, reducing it to black silver particles to form a visible image. Fixing is to use the fixing solution to remove the unexposed silver halide and fix the image. Washing is to remove the residual chemical substances such as the developer and fixing solution on the film. Finally, the drying system dries the film quickly by heating and blowing.

Development principle:

After exposure, the film enters the developer of the film processing machine, and the chemical components in the developer react chemically with the exposed photosensitive material on the film. The photosensitive material in this area is converted into a visible black or other color image material, and the image gradually appears. In the unexposed area, the photosensitive material reacts very slowly or almost not at all with the developer. The photosensitive material in these areas remains basically the same and will be removed or retained as a blank part in the subsequent processing process, thus forming a developed image corresponding to the exposure pattern. After development, the film enters the fixer, and the unreacted photosensitive material on the film fixes the image that has been formed. The chemical components in the fixer can react with the unreacted photosensitive material, dissolve it and wash it off the film, leaving only the stable image that has been developed. After the fixation process, the image on the film will no longer be affected by subsequent chemical treatments or external factors. After the fixation is completed, the film needs to be dried to remove the residual developer and fixer on the film. Water such as dry film is dried for subsequent use and storage.

Basic structure

How to operate the film developing machine?

Preparation

Check the film developer to confirm whether the developer's drive roller, nozzle, temperature control system, and drying device are operating normally, and whether there is any blockage, wear or leakage.

Configure the developer, fixer, etc. according to the process requirements to ensure that the concentration and temperature meet the standards (such as the developer temperature usually needs to be controlled at 20-25°C. Wear acid and alkali resistant gloves, goggles, and work clothes during operation to avoid splashing the liquid on the skin or eyes.

Operation process

Put the film into the film inlet steadily to avoid wrinkles, skewness, cards or uneven development; if it is batch processing, pay attention to the interval between films to ensure smooth transmission. Observe the development time, temperature, speed and other parameters in real time, and strictly follow the process standards. Prevent your hands from directly contacting the developer and fixer during operation. If you contact them, rinse them with clean water immediately.

Liquid management and maintenance

Replace the liquid medicine regularly: Replace the developer and fixer in time according to the frequency of use and the degree of contamination to avoid aging of the liquid medicine and affect the clarity of the image. Prevent dust and impurities from entering the liquid medicine tank, and regularly clean the sediment and residue in the tank to ensure that the circulation system is unobstructed.

Inspection and maintenance

The working area of the developer should be well ventilated to prevent the accumulation of chemical gases; waste liquid should be collected and treated according to environmental protection standards and should not be discharged at will. After work, rinse the liquid medicine residue inside the equipment, clean the transmission roller and cavity, and prevent the liquid medicine from crystallizing and clogging the parts.
