Casting Nylon 6 PA6 Round Rod
MC nylon rod (Monomer Casting Nylon Rod) is a high-performance engineering plastic rod that is directly cast and molded by anionic polymerization reaction using caprolactam as a monomer. Unlike traditional extrusion or injection molding nylon (such as PA6, PA66), MC nylon uses a monomer direct polymerization molding process to inject the molten caprolactam monomer into a preheated mold. Under the action of an initiator (such as sodium hydroxide) and an activator (such as toluene diisocyanate TDI), the polymerization reaction is completed in the mold, and finally an ultra-high molecular weight nylon material with a molecular weight of up to 30,000-50,000 (the molecular weight of ordinary PA6 is about 20,000-30,000) is formed.

Mechanical Properties
Tensile Strength: The tensile strength of MC nylon rods is as high as 80 - 120 MPa (ordinary PA6 rods are about 60 - 80 MPa), close to aluminum alloy (tensile strength 120 - 150 MPa), and much higher than ordinary plastics (such as PP rods about 30 - 40 MPa);
Flexural Strength: ≥150 MPa (ordinary PA6 rods are about 100 - 120 MPa), flexural modulus is 3.0 - 4.5 GPa (1.5 - 2 times that of PA6 rods), suitable for high-load support structures (such as gear shafts, bearing bushings).
Hardness: Rockwell hardness (R-scale) ≥115 (close to hardened steel R-scale 20 - 30), excellent surface wear resistance (friction coefficient is only 0.15 - 0.3, ordinary PA6 rod is 0.3 - 0.4);
Wear rate: Akron wear test ≤0.003 cm³/(1.61km) (ordinary PA6 rod is 0.005 - 0.01 cm³/(1.61km)), service life is 3 - 5 times longer than ordinary PA6 rod (such as mine conveyor belt rollers, MC nylon rods can be used for 5 - 10 years, ordinary PA6 rods are only 1 - 2 years).
Physical and chemical properties
Crystallinity: The crystallinity of MC nylon rods is as high as 70% - 80% (about 50% - 60% for ordinary PA6 rods), the molecular chains are closely arranged, the water absorption rate is only 0.7% - 1.2% (2.5% - 3.5% for ordinary PA6 rods), and the dimensional change rate is ≤0.03% (0.3% - 0.5% for ordinary PA6 rods), which is suitable for precision parts (such as precision gears, instrument brackets).
Organic solvent resistance: Stable to non-polar solvents such as gasoline, diesel, and mineral oil (no swelling after short-term immersion), but sensitive to strong polar solvents (such as acetone and chloroform) (need to avoid contact);
Acid and alkali resistance: Resistant to weak acids (such as acetic acid) and weak alkalis (such as sodium hydroxide solution, concentration ≤10%), but easily corroded by concentrated sulfuric acid and concentrated nitric acid (not suitable for strong oxidizing environments).
Excellent tribological properties
Friction coefficient: Under dry friction conditions, the friction coefficient between MC nylon rod and steel is only 0.15 - 0.3 (0.3 - 0.4 for ordinary PA6 rod), and the friction coefficient with itself is even lower (0.1 - 0.15);
Self-lubrication: Low friction operation can be achieved without adding lubricating oil to the surface (suitable for oil-free lubrication environment, such as food machinery gears, textile machinery guide rollers).
Anti-bite: Under high pressure (such as gear meshing) or high temperature (such as continuous working temperature of 80℃), the surface of MC nylon rod is not prone to cold welding or adhesion (ordinary PA6 rod is prone to softening and adhesion due to friction heating);
Fatigue resistance: Under cyclic loads (such as vibration, impact), the service life is 2 - 3 times longer than that of ordinary PA6 rod (fatigue strength ≥ 40 MPa).

Mining and metallurgy
Conveyor belt rollers: MC nylon rods are used for conveyor belt rollers in coal mines and iron ore mines
Crusher linings: Highly wear-resistant MC nylon rods are used for ore crusher linings
Rolling mill bearing bushings: MC nylon rods are used for rolling mill bearing bushings in steel plants
Molten metal container linings: High temperature resistant (short-term temperature resistance of 120°C) MC nylon rods are used for aluminum ingot casting container linings
Chemical and environmental protection
Storage tank linings: MC nylon rods are used for chemical storage tank linings
Pump impellers: Lightweight MC nylon rods (30% GF reinforced) for small chemical pump impellers
Grille cover: MC nylon rods are used for grating cover of sewage treatment plants

Gears and bearings: MC nylon rods are made into gears by injection molding or machining, with lower noise than metal gears and no lubrication required
