Transparent PC Polycarbonate UV Protection Sheets 2mm 50mm
PC Sheet (Polycarbonate Sheet) is a thermoplastic engineering plastic sheet based on polycarbonate (PC) resin, which is formed by extrusion or molding. Polycarbonate is a polymer material synthesized by condensation reaction of bisphenol A and phosgene or diphenyl carbonate. It has excellent transparency, impact resistance and thermal stability and is known as "transparent metal". PC sheet has a smooth surface, high light transmittance (close to glass), high toughness and lightweight characteristics. The thickness range is usually 1mm to 20mm, the width can reach 2 meters to 3 meters, and the length can be customized according to demand (usually 2 meters to 6 meters). According to different uses, PC sheets can be divided into ordinary grade, optical grade, UV protection grade (UV coating), flame retardant grade (UL94 V-0), weather resistant grade (surface coating) and antistatic grade. Some products use co-extrusion technology to achieve double-sided UV protection or add glass fiber to enhance rigidity. They are widely used in building lighting, advertising display, electronic appliances and safety protection.
Scope of application
The core value of PC Sheet lies in its comprehensive characteristics of "high transparency-high impact resistance-weather resistance", which is suitable for fields that require lighting, safety protection or weather resistance, especially in construction, advertising, electronics and agriculture.
Product advantages
Impact resistance and safety performance
The impact strength of PC sheets is much higher than that of ordinary glass and acrylic. It can withstand high-intensity impact without breaking easily. It can be used as a safety barrier in public places (such as schools, gymnasiums) or high-risk areas (such as bank counters and airport security areas), which can significantly reduce the risk of accidental injury.
High light transmittance and energy saving
The light transmittance of PC sheets is close to that of glass, but it is light in weight and has strong impact resistance. Replacing traditional glass can reduce structural loads (such as reducing the weight of roof lighting systems by more than 50%). At the same time, UV coating blocks ultraviolet rays to prevent fading of indoor decorative materials, and has significant energy-saving effects (such as increasing greenhouse light transmittance by 20%).
Wide temperature range and weather resistance
PC sheets can maintain good mechanical properties and dimensional stability in the temperature range of -40℃ to 120℃, and can withstand high temperatures of 130℃ in the short term (such as automotive lampshade applications). After long-term outdoor exposure, the anti-ultraviolet aging performance is better than acrylic (the life of unlaminated PC is about 5 years, and it can reach more than 10 years after lamination).
Environmental protection and economy
PC sheets are 100% recyclable and no harmful gases are released during the processing; the lightweight characteristics reduce transportation and installation costs (such as 30% reduction in labor costs for roof installation), and the overall cost is 20%-30% lower than glass.
