Extruded HDPE PE Polyethylene Extrusion Rod
Excellent mechanical properties
High toughness: Simple beam notched impact strength ≥20 kJ/m² (ISO 179 standard, can still maintain ≥15 kJ/m² at -40℃), which is 2-3 times that of ordinary PP (ordinary PP impact strength 8-15 kJ/m²), can withstand severe impact (such as mining machinery parts);
High tensile strength: Tensile strength ≥20 MPa (ISO 527 standard), better than LDPE (tensile strength 8-15 MPa), suitable for structural support parts (such as mechanical guide rails);
Creep resistance: Creep strain ≤8% (1000 hours) at 80℃ and 1MPa stress, better than PP (creep strain ≤10%), suitable for long-term load parts (such as chemical pipeline support frames).
Excellent physical and chemical properties
Chemical corrosion resistance: Stable to most acids (such as sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid), alkalis (such as sodium hydroxide solution, concentration ≤50%), and salt solutions (tolerance to pH 1 - 14), it is an ideal material for chemical equipment (such as acid storage tank lining);
Temperature resistance: Continuous use temperature -60℃ to +80℃ (short-term temperature resistance 100℃), brittle temperature as low as -100℃ (the brittle temperature of ordinary plastics is -20℃ to -50℃), suitable for extremely cold environments (such as Arctic scientific research equipment);
Electrical insulation: Volume resistivity ≥10¹⁵ Ω·cm (ISO 3915 standard), dielectric constant 2.3 (at 1kHz frequency), suitable for electrical insulation parts (such as cable sheaths).
Precise processing and dimensional stability
Processing accuracy: Extrusion process diameter tolerance ±0.1 mm (common plastic rod ±0.2 mm), injection molding process dimensional accuracy ±0.05 mm (meeting the needs of precision parts);
Dimensional stability: Water absorption is only 0.01% - 0.03% (common PP is 0.1% - 0.3%), linear thermal expansion coefficient is 1.2×10⁻⁴/℃ (common PP is 1.2×10⁻⁴/℃, but HDPE has a smaller dimensional change after absorbing water), and is minimally affected by temperature changes (tolerance control ±0.01 mm).
Special functionality
Abrasion resistance: abrasion loss ≤ 0.1 cm³/(1.61km) (ASTM D1044 standard), which is 1/5 of ordinary PP (ordinary PP abrasion loss ≥ 0.5 cm³/(1.61km)), suitable for high friction parts (such as conveyor belt guides);
Antistatic property: adding carbon black (content 2% - 5%) or antistatic agent (such as ethoxylated alkylamine), surface resistance ≤ 10⁹ Ω (ordinary HDPE surface resistance ≥ 10¹³ Ω), used for electronic component bearing platform;
Low temperature resistance: brittle temperature as low as -100℃ (ordinary plastics are -20℃ to -50℃), suitable for extremely cold environments (such as Antarctic scientific research equipment seals).
Application areas
Chemical industry and environmental protection
Chemical equipment parts: Chemically resistant HDPE plastic is used for acid storage tank linings and reactor stirring paddles, and can withstand strong acid and alkali environments with a pH of 1-14;
Environmental protection equipment filter elements: High-toughness HDPE rods are used for sewage treatment filter element frames and air purifier housings, which are corrosion-resistant and easy to clean.
Machinery and industry
Mechanical guides and bearings: Self-lubricating HDPE rods are used for conveyor belt guides and machine tool sliders, with a friction coefficient of only 0.2-0.3, reducing wear;
Industrial container seals: Wear-resistant HDPE rods are used for chemical pump seals and valve bushings, which are creep-resistant and chemical-resistant.
Food and Medicine
Food processing machinery parts: FDA-compliant HDPE rods are used for food stirring paddles and baking molds. They are non-toxic and tasteless (in accordance with GB 4806.6 food contact material standards) and resistant to detergents;
Medical device housings: Medical-grade HDPE rods are used for syringe plungers and infusion pump guides. They are resistant to disinfection and have a smooth surface.
Ocean and Water Conservancy
Seawater pipeline connectors: Seawater corrosion-resistant HDPE rods are used for submarine cable sheaths and seawater desalination equipment brackets. They are resistant to chloride ion corrosion;
Water conservancy engineering seals: High-toughness HDPE rods are used for dam waterstops and irrigation pipe joints. They are resistant to low temperatures and UV rays.
Sports and leisure
Ski and surfboard brackets: Lightweight and high-strength HDPE rods are used for ski brackets and surfboard tail fins, with a density of only 0.94 - 0.97 g/cm³ and impact resistance;
Fitness equipment parts: Self-lubricating HDPE rods are used for treadmill guides and dumbbell handles, with a friction coefficient as low as 0.2 - 0.3, improving movement smoothness.
