Sorbeth-30 Tetraoleate is a high-performance nonionic surfactant commonly used in various cleansing emulsions and cosmetic raw material systems. It appears as a light yellow liquid. Its excellent emulsifying and oil-dispersing properties make it particularly suitable for formulations requiring gentle cleansing, such as makeup removers and facial cleansers. It is an ideal choice for achieving a balance between skin feel and functionality. When used in combination with common nonionic emulsifiers such as PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, it further enhances system stability and user comfort.

General Properties

Its key attributes are its efficient emulsification and easy rinsing properties. With an HLB value as high as 10.5, it forms stable emulsions with polar and non-polar oils and rapidly undergoes a whitening reaction upon contact with water, significantly enhancing the cleansing efficiency of makeup removers. It is readily soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and, in suitable systems, can also be dispersed in the aqueous phase. It also exhibits excellent solubilization of vegetable oils and synthetic esters, thereby enhancing overall system stability. The recommended addition amount is 5–30%, and it is widely used in products such as makeup remover oil, cleansing cream, and shower gel; if used in combination with PEG-20 glyceryl triisostearate, the cleaning effect can be further enhanced.
