Dia 16-350 mm Polyurethane Natural PU Tube

PU polymer tube (polyurethane hose) is a flexible polymer tubing made from polyurethane (PU) resin, produced through extrusion or injection molding. PU is a polymer formed by the polymerization of isocyanates (such as TDI and MDI) and polyols (such as polyether polyols and polyester polyols) with the aid of catalysts, chain extenders, and other additives. It combines the high elasticity of rubber with the rigidity of plastic, with its molecular chain containing hard segments (providing strength) and soft segments (providing flexibility). Its density typically ranges from 1.1 to 1.25 g/cm³. PU hoses feature a smooth inner wall (roughness Ra < 0.1 μm) and a uniform outer surface. The inner and outer diameters, as well as length, can be customized. Depending on the application, PU hoses are categorized into polyester (high oil resistance), polyether (excellent hydrolysis resistance), high-temperature resistant (short-term resistance to 120°C), wear-resistant (high-hardness polyurethane), and food/medical grades (compliant with FDA/USP standards). They are widely used in fluid transportation, pneumatic tools, industrial machinery, and medical equipment.

Product Performance
Mechanical Properties
High Flexibility: Elongation at break ≥ 300% (can be easily bent to a small radius, typically 3-5 times the pipe diameter). Strong torsional resistance (resistant to breakage even after repeated bending), suitable for dynamic bending scenarios.
Excellent Wear Resistance: Akron abrasion value ≤ 0.05 cm³/1.61 km (3-5 times higher than rubber and 5-8 times higher than PVC). Minimal wall wear under long-term friction (for example, the lifespan of a pipe transporting sand and gravel slurry is 3-5 times that of a rubber pipe).
High Tear Resistance: Tear strength ≥ 30 N/mm (transverse tears are unlikely to propagate). Puncture resistance is superior to that of ordinary rubber pipes (can withstand impact from sharp particles).
Moderate Rigidity: Wide Shore hardness range (adjustable from 50A to 95A, commonly used 70A to 85A), balancing flexibility and support (for example, resists collapse during high-pressure transport).

Thermal Performance
Wide Temperature Range: Conventional models offer long-term operating temperatures of -40°C to +80°C (short-term resistance to 100°C). High-temperature-resistant models (modified polyether PU) can withstand short-term temperatures of 120°C (e.g., hot air conveying). Low-temperature models (polyester PU) remain flexible (without brittle cracking) at -50°C.
Low Thermal Expansion Coefficient: Dimensional stability is superior to that of rubber hoses during temperature fluctuations (reducing loose connections caused by thermal expansion and contraction).

Chemical Properties
Media Resistance Classification:
Polyester PU: Excellent oil resistance (can withstand long-term corrosion from mineral oil, hydraulic oil, and lubricating oil), but weak hydrolysis resistance (easily hydrolyzed in humid environments);
Polyether PU: Extremely hydrolysis resistance (can withstand long-term use in high humidity, hot water, or weak acid and alkali environments), but slightly weaker oil resistance (suitable for transporting water-based fluids and detergents);
General Purpose PU: Stable to weak acids and alkalis (such as sulfuric acid and sodium hydroxide with a concentration less than 10%), saline solutions, and most organic solvents (such as ethanol and acetone), but not resistant to strong oxidizing agents (such as concentrated nitric acid and hypochlorous acid).
Aging Resistance: PU hoses without protective agents tend to yellow and harden when exposed to outdoor conditions (UV rays break down the molecular chains). Weather-resistant PU hoses (added with carbon black and hindered amine light stabilizers) can withstand UV radiation, extending their service life to 3-5 years.

Electrical Properties
Excellent Insulation: Volume resistivity ≥ 10¹²Ω·cm (between conductor and insulator), suitable for flexible connections in non-high-voltage electrical equipment (such as sensor signal line protection).

Processability
Easy to Form: Continuous production is possible through extrusion (wall thickness tolerance ±0.1mm), injection molding (for complex structural parts), or welding (for connecting pipe sections using hot air welding), achieving high production efficiency.
Connection Compatibility: Supports various connection methods, including quick-connect fittings, flare connections, and hot-melt welding, with excellent sealing performance (pressure-resistant leakage rate <0.1MPa/min).

Product Advantages
Wear and Tear Resistance - Dynamic Bending
PU hose's ultra-high wear resistance (3-5 times higher than rubber) and excellent flexibility (small minimum bend radius) make it a core component for applications requiring frequent movement, bending, and friction. For example, in the pneumatic piping of industrial robot arms, PU hoses can withstand millions of bending cycles (lifespan >5 years) without cracking, ensuring stable air supply to pneumatic tools. In slurry conveying pipes for mining machinery, their tear resistance (resisting the impact of sharp ore particles) and abrasion resistance (lasting three times longer than ordinary rubber hoses) significantly reduce the frequency of downtime and maintenance.

Wide Temperature Range - Extreme Environments
Conventional PU hoses cover a wide temperature range of -40°C to +80°C (not brittle at low temperatures, not softening at high temperatures). High-temperature resistant (short-term resistance to 120°C) and low-temperature resistant (flexible to -50°C) versions further expand their application boundaries. For example, in the water pipes of outdoor spraying equipment in northern winter, PU hoses remain soft (no cracking or leakage) at -40°C, replacing PVC pipes (which become hard and crack at -10°C); in the exhaust ducts of high-temperature ovens, high-temperature resistant PU hoses can withstand 120°C hot air for a short period of time (ensuring continuous operation of the equipment).
