Excellent comprehensive performance
Mechanical properties: Lightweight and high strength
Tensile strength: 80-120 MPa (close to 1/3 of the strength of ordinary steel but only 1/7 of the weight), better than ordinary PA6 (50-70 MPa) and POM (polyoxymethylene, 70-90 MPa);
Flexural strength: 120-150 MPa, can withstand dynamic loads (such as radial force of rotating shaft);
Impact toughness: Simple beam notched impact strength ≥ 15 kJ/m² (still ≥ 10 kJ/m² at -40℃), more than twice that of PA6 (ordinary PA6 low-temperature impact strength is only 5-8 kJ/m²), strong resistance to brittle fracture.
Wear resistance and self-lubrication: maintenance-free "plastic bearing"
Wear loss: ≤ 0.05 cm³/(1.61km) (ASTM D1044 standard), only 1/3 of ordinary PA6 (PA6 wear loss is about 0.15 - 0.2 cm³/(1.61km)), 1/2 of POM (POM wear loss is about 0.1 cm³/(1.61km)), close to bronze (wear loss is about 0.03 - 0.04 cm³/(1.61km));
Friction coefficient: When paired with steel, it is only 0.1 - 0.15 (under dry friction conditions), and can operate stably for a long time without additional lubricant (such as mine conveyor belt rollers, gear transmission components);
Self-lubricating mechanism: Highly crystalline nylon molecular chains form a transfer film during friction, covering the metal surface and reducing direct contact, while the flexibility of the molecular chain buffers the impact energy. (3) Temperature resistance and thermal stability: Applicable in a wide temperature range
Continuous use temperature: -40℃ to +100℃ (short-term temperature resistance can reach 120℃), mechanical properties retention rate of long-term use at 80℃ environment ≥ 90% (the strength of ordinary PA6 decreases by about 30% at 80℃);
Heat deformation temperature: ≥ 160℃ (under 1.82 MPa load), better than PA6 (about 140℃), suitable for light-loaded parts in high temperature environment (such as drying equipment transmission wheels).
Chemical resistance and environmental adaptability
Corrosion resistance: Stable to lubricating oil, hydraulic oil, weak acid and alkali (such as pH 5-9 solution), resistant to organic solvents such as mineral oil, gasoline, ethanol (no swelling or performance degradation after immersion for 3 months);
Aging resistance: Ordinary MC nylon may cause slight surface powdering due to ultraviolet radiation during long-term outdoor use (which can be improved by adding carbon black or ultraviolet absorbers), but its service life can reach more than 10 years indoors or under protective conditions (such as factory equipment gears).
Advantages of processing and forming
Customizable complex structures: Through mechanical processing (turning, milling, drilling, tapping), high-precision parts (dimensional tolerance ± 0.05 mm, precision grade ± 0.02 mm) can be achieved to meet the needs of special-shaped parts (such as shaft sleeves with keyways and porous connecting plates);
Lightweight: The density is only 1/7 of steel (steel is about 7.8 g/cm³) and 1/8 of copper (copper is about 8.9 g/cm³), which greatly reduces the weight of equipment (for example, MC nylon gears are used to replace steel gears in mining machinery, and the total weight is reduced by more than 60%);
Easy to assemble: The surface is smooth (roughness Ra ≤ 0.8 μm, which can be reduced to Ra ≤ 0.2 μm by polishing), the clearance with metal parts is small, and the installation is convenient.
