Customized Size POM Acetal Delrin Blue Round Rod
Typical advantages of pom rods
Ultra-high rigidity and dimensional stability
Tensile strength is as high as 60-80 MPa (close to 1/3-1/2 of low carbon steel, but only 1/7 of steel weight), flexural modulus is 2000-3000 MPa (rigidity is close to aluminum alloy), suitable for bearing high static loads (such as gear shafts, bearing seats).
Extremely low shrinkage (homopolymer POM about 0.2%-0.8%, copolymer POM about 1.5%-2.0%), high dimensional accuracy after processing (tolerance can reach ±0.05 mm), and not easy to deform after long-term use (suitable for precision mold guides and measuring instrument guide rails).
Extremely low friction coefficient and self-lubrication
The surface friction coefficient is only 0.15-0.35 (about 0.2-0.3 when grinding against steel, much lower than 0.4-0.5 of nylon 66), and the dynamic friction coefficient is close to the static friction coefficient (no "stick-slip effect"), and low noise and long life sliding (such as gear meshing, screw nut pair) can be achieved without additional lubrication.
Excellent wear resistance (wear ≤0.05 mm³/(N·m), which is 1/5-1/10 of nylon), suitable for high-frequency reciprocating motion scenarios (such as sliders and conveyor belt rollers of automation equipment).
Excellent fatigue resistance and creep resistance
Under alternating loads (such as cyclic bending or torsion), the fatigue strength can reach 30-40 MPa (10⁷ cycles without breaking), which is 2-3 times that of nylon (nylon fatigue strength is about 10-20 MPa).
Outstanding creep resistance (1000 hours deformation ≤ 0.5% at 100°C and 10 MPa stress), not easy to relax under long-term stress (suitable for bolt washers and fastener support structures).
Good chemical inertness and weather resistance
Resistant to most organic solvents (such as gasoline, lubricating oils, alcohols), weak acids (such as dilute sulfuric acid, acetic acid) and weak bases (such as sodium carbonate solution), but easily degraded in strong acids (such as concentrated nitric acid), strong oxidants (such as potassium permanganate) and high-temperature steam (>120°C).
Ultraviolet stability is average (anti-UV agent needs to be added for long-term outdoor use), but weather resistance at room temperature is better than nylon (not prone to performance degradation due to moisture absorption).
Differentiated value of blue POM rods
Visual identification and error prevention management: Blue is a commonly used "functional identification color" in the industrial field (such as distinguishing different specifications, uses or batches), which facilitates rapid identification during production and assembly (for example, blue rods are specially used for high-precision transmission components to avoid confusion with black nylon rods).
Customizable Processability: It can be formed by injection molding, extrusion, or machining (such as turning and drilling). The blue colorant does not affect subsequent machining accuracy (e.g., surface roughness Ra ≤ 0.8 μm after turning).
Economical Metal Replacement: Compared to brass (density 8.9 g/cm³) or aluminum alloy (density 2.7-2.8 g/cm³), blue POM rods have a density of only 1.4-1.42 g/cm³ (60%-80% lighter) and require no corrosion protection (saving electroplating/spraying costs), resulting in a 30%-50% reduction in overall costs.
