What is color mark positioning?
     Color mark positioning is a technology that realizes accurate position detection or positioning color registration by identifying color blocks on the surface of an object.
On the cylindrical product that has been printed with the first color, there are patterns or color blocks with obvious color differences (such as black, red, etc.). Generally, a relatively independent area is selected to improve the recognition sensitivity of the sensor. A photoelectric sensor (color mark sensor) is used to detect the color contrast between the color mark and the surrounding background and capture the position information of the color mark. The PLC controller drives the servo motor to rotate and drive the fixture and the cylindrical product to rotate to the preset area according to the deviation between the color mark position and the preset target position.
Color mark positioning is widely used in self-adhesive trademark printing machines, plastic film roll-to-roll screen printing machines, and automatic ribbon screen printing machines.

  • Composition
   Color mark recognition system: It is composed of color mark sensors used by ordinary positioning screen printers, industrial cameras and image processing modules used by horizontal turntable multi-color screen printers to capture the color mark position on the surface of the workpiece.
Servo drive system: It includes servo motors, encoders, and controllers, which are responsible for driving the movement/rotation of workpieces or screen printing screens to achieve precise positioning.
  •  Workflow
1. Color mark preset and recognition
Plastic bottles, cups and other surfaces are pre-printed or set with color marks (usually high-contrast color blocks/patterns) as the "reference point" for printing positioning. The color mark recognition system shoots or scans the workpiece in real time, identifies the current position of the color mark through image processing, and converts it into a coordinate signal. The PLC controller compares the actual position identified by the color mark with the preset "target printing position" and calculates the rotation angle deviation between the two.
 
2. Servo precision alignment
The PLC controller sends instructions to the servo system based on the deviation value, drives the servo motor to rotate the fixture and product, compensates for the angle deviation, and after rotating to the specified position, drives the screen lifting mechanism to descend and start printing.
