Hydraulic Briquetting Machine (also known as hydraulic metal press/hyd press) is the core equipment in the field of metal processing and recycling. It uses cold pressing and hydraulic forming to press loose metal chips into high-density briquettes without additives, which is convenient for storage, transportation and smelting.
Characteristics
-Applicable materials: all kinds of metal cutting/chips such as steel chips, iron chips, aluminum chips, copper chips, cast iron chips, etc.; some models can be deoiled synchronously to recover cutting fluid.
-Form of finished product: cylindrical briquette is common, with weight of 2.5 – 10 kg and density of 5 – 6 t/m ³; it can be directly put into the furnace for smelting, and the cast iron chip briquette can replace part of cast pig iron.
-Core values: significantly reduce transportation costs (reduce 70% + volume), eliminate dust/oil pollution, improve smelting recovery rate, and facilitate measurement and storage management.
-Typical scenarios: mechanical processing plants, foundries, scrap metal recycling depots, recycling smelters.
Structure and working principle
-Main components: host (three-beam and four-column/vertical structure, including mold and pressure head), hydraulic station (motor + oil pump + cooling system + valve group), electrical control cabinet (PLC + touch screen, supporting manual/semi-automatic/full-automatic).
-Working process: automatic/manual feeding → prepressing and exhausting → high-pressure cold pressing of main cylinder (100 – 300 MPa) → pressure maintaining and shaping → demoulding and discharging; circulating operation; the deoiling type will separate and recycle the cutting fluid during pressing and shaping.
-Drive mode: the mainstream is hydraulic drive, with stable operation and controllable pressure; the large line can be equipped with automatic feeding, conveying and palletizing systems.
Routine maintenance and safety
-Regularly check the hydraulic oil level, oil temperature and oil quality, and replace the filter element; regularly clean, lubricate and check the wear of the mold.
-It is strictly prohibited to reach into the material inlet when the pressure head goes down; the equipment must be grounded; the protective fence shall be set up; the electrical and hydraulic pipelines shall be checked regularly.
-For long-term shutdown, it is necessary to empty the accumulated water in the oil circuit, clean equipment and provide anti-rust protection.
