Isododecane and Dimethicone Crosspolymer is a hybrid silicone formula consisting of the fast-evaporating solvent isododecane and finely dispersed dimethicone crosspolymer. It is a clear to translucent gel with excellent spreadability and a lightweight, non-greasy texture that leaves a silky, micro-powdery feel upon application. With a density of 0.85–0.95 g/cm³ at 25°C and adjustable viscosity, it offers formulators flexibility to accommodate a wide range of cosmetic applications.

The volatile isododecane provides a light, oil-free feel, while the crosspolymer smoothes skin texture, reduces stickiness, and improves product spreadability. This combination effectively controls oil and creates a matte effect by absorbing excess oil from the skin’s surface, while the polymers form a breathable, protective film that helps lock in moisture and protects against external pollutants without leaving a heavy residue.

The blend is compatible with oils, waxes, and a variety of cosmetic ingredients. When combined with PEG-60 hydrogenated castor oil or cosmetic emulsifiers, it can improve the stability, texture and performance of makeup, sunscreen and oil-control skin care products.
