This part is a high-precision structural component in optical fiber communication systems. It is formed by aluminum alloy CNC precision machining, combined with surface treatment processes such as anodizing. It has excellent dimensional stability, assembly accuracy, and long-term reliability, and is widely used in the core structures of optical modules and optical communication equipment. The main processing as below:
  • CNC precision machining: Mainly focused on 3-axis / 4-axis CNC milling, local structures (steps, inner cavities, openings, positioning pillars) require multiple clampings.Cylindrical parts have: Fine boring / fine milling of inner holes/Coaxiality control. Flat parts exists Step milling/Contour finishing of special-shaped profiles.
  • Drilling + tapping process: Mounting holes, fixing holes, positioning holes. Common thread specifications has M2 / M2.5 / M3. Chamfering is required before tapping to avoid damaging the optical fiber or coating during assembly

After CNC precision machining, such fiber optic communication precision structural components require systematic post-processing and precision rechecking to ensure long-term stability and assembly reliability. Surface treatment typically adopts anodizing (natural or black color) or chemical passivation processes, which not only enhance corrosion resistance and wear resistance but also ensure good surface consistency and cleanliness, preventing contamination of fiber end faces and precision interfaces. For functional contact surfaces and assembly datum planes, surface roughness is strictly controlled, generally requiring Ra ≤ 1.6 μm to meet the requirements of optical communication equipment for precision assembly and repeated positioning.
In terms of key precision control, emphasis is placed on the coaxiality, perpendicularity, hole position degree of inner holes and outer circles, as well as the flatness of key mounting surfaces, with typical control ranges reaching ±0.01 mm or even higher grades. All key dimensions are inspected and recorded using CMM coordinate measuring machines, digital calipers, and special gauges to ensure that the parts still have reliable structural stability and consistency under high-speed data transmission and long-term operating environments.
