The Pneumatic Diaphragm Single Seat Control Valve DN50 (2‑inch) is the most widely used size in process industries, offering a Cv range of 25 to 80, making it suitable for a broad spectrum of liquid, gas, and steam applications. Its balanced or unbalanced plug options allow customization based on shut‑off requirements and pressure drop. The actuator is a standard spring‑opposed diaphragm type, available with either 280 or 310 cm² effective area, providing sufficient thrust for most industrial conditions. This valve is a staple in power plant auxiliary systems, controlling condenser cooling water, desuperheater spray water, and turbine lube oil temperature. It serves as a reliable Pressure Control Valve in compressed air dryers and as a Temperature Regulating Valve in heat tracing circuits. When equipped with a digital positioner, it becomes an Intelligent Control Valve that enables predictive maintenance and performance trending. In flow control loops, it acts as a Flow Control Valve for pump recirculation and tank filling operations, ensuring smooth and stable delivery. The valve body is available in carbon steel, stainless steel, or chrome‑moly alloys, with flanged, socket‑weld, or threaded ends. The trim options include 416 stainless steel, 17‑4 PH, or Inconel, depending on the corrosiveness and temperature of the fluid. The packing is available as PTFE V‑ring, graphite, or braided fiber, with an optional lantern ring for purging. The valve’s cage‑guided design provides low noise and high rangeability, even under cavitation‑prone conditions. Maintenance is user‑friendly, with a top‑entry bonnet that allows access to the plug, seat, and cage without removing the body from the pipeline. Each valve is factory‑calibrated with a 4‑20 mA signal to ensure linear response. Optional accessories include a handwheel, limit switches, solenoid valves, and booster relays. With its proven track record, the DN50 valve offers an optimal balance of cost, capacity, and control quality, making it the default choice for most new plant designs and retrofit projects.
