IR CaF2 plano convex lens refers to an infrared plano convex lens made of calcium fluoride(CaF2), this is a converging lens specifically designed for the mid-infrared(3-5um), due to CaF2 windows material properities, it holds an irreplaceable position in thermal imaging and laser systems.

Compare with Znse lens or Znse Windows, CaF2 lens have following 3 advantages

*Broadband spectrum transmission: covers 0.8-10um, extending from ultraviolet all the way to mid-infrared range, it's one of the three wavelength band transmission material from ultraviolet, visible, and infrared.

*Excellent thermal stability:refractive index temperature coefficient extremely low, and focal length drift is very small when temperature changes,this make caf2 plano convex lens is particularly suitable for non-cooled thermal imagers and for use in outdoor environments

* Low absorption and high damage threshold:the absorption is extremely low in 3-5um wavelength, it can withstand a higher power density compare to plastics or some crystals.
